SSbD24 - Call for papers

The SSbD24 Conference aims to provide a discussion forum for experts from various relevant fields and sectors who have started to work on the tools and criteria to operationalize SSbD towards a common roadmap on future development and operation of the SSbD framework.

The Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) framework by the European Commission is expected to revolutionize the way how chemicals and materials are designed and evaluated.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Frameworks and concepts relevant for SSbD (e.g., green and sustainable chemistry, Safe-by-Design chemicals and materials)
  • Safety and sustainability assessments in the early innovation phase
  • Toolboxes for SSbD
  • Emerging concepts (e.g., social and economic assessments within SSbD, absolute sustainability assessments, consideration of trade-offs)
  • SSbD case studies
  • Science-policy-business dialogue

 

The deadline for abstract submission (oral or poster) is May 31, 2024. Specific timeslots will be reserved for Early Career Scientists.
