The IRISS Project – a major EU-funded initiative – aims at connecting, synergizing and transforming the SSbD community in Europe and beyond towards a holistic approach integrating safety, climate neutrality, circularity, and functionality.

IRISS workshop: Application of SSbD in materials and chemicals
Ensuring that materials are sustainable for humans and the environment, increasing recycling and using resources more efficiently requires action at an early stage of design and manufacturing. This is the first IRISS International workshop, bringing together SSbD experts from outside the EU.

Implementation of the Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design Framework
The SSbD framework serves as a guide for safer and more sustainable products but how the framework can be implemented and operationalized is still being determined. Change Chemistry welcomes SusChem Sweden, Mistra SafeChem and IRISS representatives from IVL and CEFIC to present an industrial perspective on the implementation of the SSbD framework.

Organized every two years in Grenoble since 2008, the nanoSAFE conference aims to share the latest research results on health and safety issues related to nanomaterials and beyond for a socially responsible approach.
